the most depressing day of the year

Yeah yeah, Happy Valentine's Day...

It's been a pretty busy day. I had to go order frames for the two pairs of Phoenix drawings and the Buff Polish drawings, since I am delivering them all to their buyers at a show next weekend. And then I had to drop off the Phoenix and the newly-finished Japanese Bantam at the photographer's studio. There was a time not too long ago when I didn't get all my work photographed, and I regret that. Now I get pretty much everything photographed, at least all the drawings!

So, my evening is pretty predictably dull. I have some 80s music blasting on iTunes, I'm drawing the Aseel, maybe squeezing in a bit of painting (?), and as soon as the margarine warms to room temperature I am going to bake some sinfully decadent brownies. I feel entitled to chocolate, even if I do have to create it myself. ;-)

Oh one of these years.... *sigh*

Anyway, I've posted this before but if anyone is out there with nothing to do tonight, I highly suggest making these:

BROWNIES

1 cup butter or margarine
1-3/4 cups brown sugar
5 eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup cocoa
3 tablespoons canola (veg) oil
2 tablespoons chocolate cream liqueur
1 tablespoon Hershey's syrup
1 cup flour
pinch of salt

Cream margarine and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, beat thoroughly. Add cocoa, oil, liqueur, and chocolate syrup, beat til smooth. Add flour and salt, and mix until combined.

Pour into greased 9x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 27 minutes, or until top no longer looks "wet," toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, and edges are just starting to pull away from the pan. Serve warm! Yummy! :-)

Happy Valentines day... Yeah yeah,,, i feel the same way.. Just another Halmark Holiday...

This year I was good, and bought expensive chocolates for the boys.. and wouldn't you know it, neither one of them did anything for me! The only reason I got them something is that I figured I would look the shmuck if I didnt! LOL

Joel is in baking thumb-print cookies as I type this... yummmm (though brownies do sound better!)
