November 21 work in progress

The black parts are done, I think. Pretty much done anyway. There may be some touchup along the way but it's time to start on the browns! Not tonight, yawn. And then the blues, and pinks. There will be no border and no background, this image is busy enough already!

November 20 work in progress

Black areas in progress:

This is a black and white horse, but it's going to be a full color image. Mostly you'll see the color in his bridle, but if I pull it off there will be some color in the horse as well. This is the same horse I just drew, but I have to sit and think about how to do this sometimes, because sometimes doing color scrimshaw still feels backwards. Whether to work from dark to light or light to dark varies depending on the image. This one needs to go dark to light. So total opposite of how I just drew the very same image. Brain boggle!

November 15 work in progress: horse scrimshaw

I started a new one today. This is the same horse I just drew, Drum. This will be a pendant, in full color (eek!) It's 18x25mm on pre-ban elephant ivory.
