May 17 work in progress

Thankfully the horse show practice tomorrow got cancelled. I was going to bow out anyway. There is no reason to be riding in this weather. Shylah might melt!

Jessie is the dog with nine lives I think. I honestly didn't expect her to be alive this morning. But she was, and though she's still not getting around all that well she was happy and bouncy and perky again. It really is hard to know what to do. Yesterday I was sure it was time, but today...not so sure anymore. The only thing she will eat is cooked eggs, so I cooked eggs for her several times today. I think she's got me all figured out. Why eat dog food if I'll make fried eggs?

The enormous drawing is coming along at a pretty good clip despite the size. I run into some issues due to the size of the drawing and the size of my table, but so far it seems to be one of those drawings that just kinda flows. It's all done in 8B graphite and hard charcoal, if anyone wants to know.

At this point in the drawing, it looks like the horse is wearing a small bowtie. JJ
