need to start this thing soon

Probably nobody has ventured in here yet since nobody knows about it. I need to send out one of my massive email update thingys before I really get into this, so that people will know it's here! (then again, that's mildly scary). This blog thing feels like a big commitment, but I think I'll handle it better than the email updates, since obviously I've been a bit lax on those (almost two years now since I've sent one..ugh). Here's hoping I can come up with good things to write about, that I can keep it updated, and that I'm not so terribly boring that nobody will read it!
